We are fully accredited by the Forest School Association, the first and only accredited Forest School in Burnley.
Giant Leap Forest School is led by a trained and qualified team who have undertaken Level 3 Forest School Qualifications, outdoor paediatric first aid and have acquired bush craft and campfire cooking skills and love the outdoors as much as our children do. Please see our award certificate here.
We are extremely pleased to announce that we have achieved the Lancashire Quality Award called Step into Quality. The Lancashire Quality Award (LQA) scheme was developed by Lancashire County Council’s Sure Start, Early Years and Childcare Service as a quality assurance scheme for outstanding childcare practice and high quality service for children and families. After one year of hard work, completing modules and being assessed by a panel of experts (childcare consultants) who visited our nursery on a bi-monthly basis – we have been officially presented with our Award Certificate.
We are delighted to achieve the Recipe4Health Gold Level Award in recognition of our healthy menu options for children. This award shows that our home-cooked meals are not only delicious but also very healthy, that we are aware of allergen issues and that our healthy options cater for special dietary requirements. Our 5* Hygiene award shows are dedication to hygiene practices, structure, cleanliness and management controls that are in place to ensure our food is produced safely.
We are delighted to have won the Skills and Development Award presented to us at the prestigious Themis Inspire and Achieve Awards 2014.
In 2012 we joined the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA). NDNA’s vision is a society where all children and families receive the best quality care and learning that enables them to reach their full potential.
We are extremely proud to have made the finals in the prestigious national NMT 2013 Awards for best outdoor learning environment. The NMT judges in London commented that every single area of our inspiring outdoor environment is carefully thought through and designed to help children learn, achieve and develop in all areas of the EYFS, giving them varied learning opportunities, building on their creativity and promoting well-being.
